Covid-19 Crisis Response, Houston’s brand platform work for the Australian Government’s COVIDSafe program. Under crucial time pressures, Houston were onboarded to develop an extensive brand platform system for the COVIDSafe identity – to be rolled-out across both digital and environmental / POS applications. Houston’s first task was to evolve the Masterbrand logo, enhancing legibility and crafting the colour system. From here, the main job was to deliver a deep design system and accompanying assets to support the Government framework for a COVIDSafe Australia, which also included design updates to the COVIDSafe app.

By developing simple but effective icons, clean graphics and fuss-free illustrations, the communications are effective, easily understood and quickly identifiable/attributed to the Government’s COVIDSafe program of initiatives.



The demands of the design system required a fully integrated identity that worked across multiple scales and environments. It had to be digitally led, though extend into easy to apply functional POS signage systems and messages. Iconography, aligned with simple, consistent messaging ensured the identity successfully delivered a critical part of the COVIDSafe plan.
